Derek & Chelsea: August 19, 2017

by Lisa Knobloch

Derek and Chelsea began dating as he was getting ready to graduate from high school and she had her high school years ahead of her.  Their relationship is one of the few that have weathered the test of time through those years of high school,  college, and getting settled into life and a new job!  Derek and Chelsea were blessed with so many family and friends that came to share that day with them.  Since they were both raised in the same small community his friends are her friends and her friends are his.  That is the beautiful thing about a small community and I know it is something these two do not take for granted.

Chelsea’s sister Shelby was her maid of honor.  Chelsea chose a garden style bouquet with blush, cream, burgandy, red and pink tones.  Her bouquet was bursting with beautiful flowers, greens and a touch of gold to compliment the gold sequin dress that Shelby wore and the burgandy dresses that the rest of her wedding party wore.

Derek’s older brother Drew was his best man.  For Derek’s boutonnières we chose spray roses from the colors in Chelsea’s bouquet with a scabiosa pod and hypericum berries.  A simple boutonnière, but so much texture!

These beautiful alter pieces not only were front and center at the ceremony but were also used by the doors leading out to the patio at the reception.

Chelsea’s cake was made by Addy’s Sweet Treats.  I love the rich colors of the flowers that complimented the simple layered cake with gold accents.

I had to add this picture because it not only is a great shot of Chelsea’s amazing bouquet and her mom’s pretty wristlet but it captures the bond of mother and daughter and that sweet moment before all the busyness begins on this special day!  Brooke has such a gift of getting those perfect shots that tell the story of a beautiful day from beginning to end!

Thank you Derek and Chelsea for asking me to be a part of your amazing day!  As you look back over your wedding day I hope you will always remember not only the beautiful details, but the love and support from all your family, friends and community that watched your love story unfold through the years!
